Arctic Trekking Notary Pricing: Our Fees (and Why They're Set Up This Way)

Look, I get it. Nobody likes surprises when it comes to pricing. You want to know what you're paying for and why. So let me break down Arctic Trekking's fees in plain English, no fine print, no hidden charges, just honest pricing and the reasons behind every dollar.

The Basics: Standard Notary Acts

Here's what the actual notarization costs:

Service

Price

Unit/Notes

Acknowledgement, Jurat, or Signature Witnessing

$15

per notarial act

Oath or Affirmation

$10

per person

Certified Copies

$10

per page

Remote Online Notarization (RON)

$25

per session

Why these prices? These are the core notary acts, the legal stuff I'm commissioned to do. The $15 for an acknowledgement or jurat covers the time, legal responsibility, and proper documentation in my notary journal. Every signature I witness, every oath I administer, creates a legal record that I'm liable for. That's serious business.

RON sessions cost a bit more ($25) because they involve additional tech overhead, secure video conferencing platforms, identity verification software, digital journal entries, and complete audio-visual recording of the entire session. It's like comparing a house call to a telemedicine appointment. Same service, different infrastructure.

Mobile Service: Getting to You

Here's where things get interesting. I come to you, your home, your office, the hospital, wherever you need me. But Alaska isn't exactly a quick drive down the street.

Why Fort Greely is free? Because I work with military families all the time, and Fort Greely is close enough that it's part of my regular service area. Supporting our military community matters to me.

Why mileage fees exist? Alaska geography is no joke. Driving 50 miles out to a homestead in February means fuel costs, vehicle wear and tear, and time away from other appointments. At $0.67 per mile round trip, if I drive 30 miles to reach you, that's a 60-mile round trip ($40.20). It's not about profit, it's about covering real costs.

Why after-hours and weekend fees? If you need me at 10 PM on a Saturday, I'm saying no to family time, sleep, or my own weekend plans. The after-hours and weekend premiums reflect that priority scheduling. Urgent fees ($50) mean I'm dropping everything to help you immediately, rearranging my day, sometimes canceling other appointments. Holiday fees ($75) are the highest because, honestly, I'd rather be with my family on Christmas.

And when it's -30° with blowing snow? Yeah, inclement weather fees go up. I'm still coming to help you, but I'm driving slower, using more fuel, and taking extra safety precautions.

Loan Signing Packages: More Than Just Notarizing

Real estate closings are their own beast:

Package

Price

Unit/Notes

Standard Loan Package (up to 100 pages)

$150

per package

Extended/Complex Loan Package (over 100 pages)

$200

per package

Seller-Only Package

$75

per package

Why so much more than a single notarization? Because loan signings aren't just "sign here." They involve:

  • Reviewing 50-200 pages of documents beforehand

  • Arriving with printed copies (often last-minute changes from the title company)

  • Walking you through the entire closing package

  • Ensuring every initial, signature, and date is placed correctly

  • Scanning and returning documents within strict deadlines (often same-day)

  • Legal liability if something goes wrong

A standard closing takes 1-2 hours of my time, not including drive time or prep work. Extended or complex packages (over 100 pages, multiple borrowers, or tricky situations) take even longer, hence the $200 fee. Seller-only packages are simpler, usually just a deed and a few forms, so they're priced at $75.

Other Fees:

Price

Unit/Notes

Wait Time (beyond 15 minutes)

$20

per 30 minutes

Returned Check

$35

per incident

Cancellation Fee (less than 3 hours notice)

$25

per cancellation

Why wait time fees? I build a 15-minute buffer into every appointment because life happens, you're looking for a document, your spouse is running late, whatever. But if I'm sitting in your driveway for 45 minutes, that's time I could be helping another client. After the grace period, it's $20 per half hour.

Why cancellation fees? If you cancel with less than 3 hours notice, I've likely already turned down other appointments or started driving your way. The $25 fee helps cover that lost time and income.

Why returned check fees? Banks charge me when a check bounces, and dealing with it takes time. The $35 covers those costs and the administrative hassle.

What's Included (That You Might Not Realize)

Every notarization includes:

  • Proper identification verification (and I'm serious about this, do you really need a mobile notary? Yes, if you want it done right.)

  • Complete notary journal entry

  • Legal compliance with Alaska notary law

  • Confidentiality and professionalism

  • My liability insurance covering errors and omissions

Important Note: Military IDs cannot be copied by law. I can verify your military ID for notarization purposes, but I cannot make copies of it, no exceptions.

The Bottom Line

My pricing is transparent because I respect your time and your budget. When you call Arctic Trekking, you're not just paying for a signature, you're paying for:

  • Experience and training

  • Expertise and responsibility

  • Convenience (I come to you!)

  • Flexibility (after-hours, weekends, urgent situations)

  • Peace of mind that it's done right the first time

I'm available 24/7 for calls and texts at 907-560-8188. Whether you need a simple acknowledgement in Delta Junction or an urgent loan signing at midnight, I've got you covered. No surprises, no hidden fees, just honest service at fair prices.
